Industry standard Mercedes Vito or similar (see pictures). Vans have 2 seats in the front row next to the driver, 3 in the middle row, and 3 in the back row. The 2 seats on the front might be a little uncomfortable for tall people. If you have additional space requirements you may want to book a van for no more than 6 or 7 people.
    • minibus (up to 19 people) or  bus (up to 50+ people). May have restricted access to sites.

Inclusions

- Professional licensed driver.
- Prices include all taxes and fees, no hidden costs.

Exclusions

- Entrance tickets to Museums or Archeological sites are not included.
- Official Licensed Guide service. We can provide the service of an official Licensed guide upon request (additional cost).

Professional Driver Role

A driver is not an official guide. Local regulations require that only official licensed guides are allowed to provide information about sites and escort people through monuments, churches and museums. The widespread use of the term “driver-guide” is misleading. See this article describing the problem in the New York Times.

Changes and Cancellations

In order to receive a refund (or adjustment of price in case of changes), we need to receive your changes or cancelation  7 calendar days before the scheduled departure. For changes or cancelation received within 7 calendar days of the tour date you will be charged a 100% cancelation fee (no refund, nor downward price adjustments).

Group Guidelines and Conditions:

The group leader (person making the booking) shall be deemed to have accepted the following conditions on behalf of the persons traveling with him/her. He/She is also responsible for passing any relevant information received from SmartCruiseTours travel assistants as well as all issued travel vouchers to each group participants.
  • Whenever a participant departs from the group during the tour, establish a meeting point location and time.
  • If a participant gets temporarily lost, they must remain still and contact SmartCruiseTours emergency number (shown below). Making a phone call in Italy is easy as any Italian will provide assistance with that if asked.
  • Balance due at travel time is per group and not per person. All participants must respect their commitment to the group and need to provide their share if they cannot participate at the last minute or must be responsible for finding people to replace their slots (not applicable for tours that are prepaid).
  • If less people than the number indicated at booking time arrive at travel time, the group must provide advance payment to the driver (not applicable for tours that are prepaid).

SmartCruiseTours Emergency Number: your travel vouchers include our Emergency Number and other important local contact. SmartCruiseTours.com  (owned and operated by ABLE worldwide Inc) will not be held responsible for any problem that may arise if you do not follow the instructions on your Vouchers, or if you do not call the appointed Emergency Number in case of difficulties at travel time. Calling us is very simple as you can ask your driver to call us directly so that we can help right away.

Tour Description

Enjoy your private guided walking tour of Venice with one of our licensed professional guides. He/she will take you to the main sites of interest in Venice illustrating their main features. At pick up time you can decide your own itinerary  directly with the guide that will suggest you the best way to enjoy Venice in 2 hours.

SUGGESTED ITINERARIES:
The following suggested itineraries are all perfect for 2 hours walking tour.

Venice Itinerary  No.1

This tour will lead you through narrow alleyways, meandering canals, and the peaceful squares of Santa Croce and San Polo. Venice is dense in history and picturesque sites, as we’ll see during our visit to the bustling Rialto Bridge market area, the real heart of Venice and the former international business center. We’ll cross the Grand Canal to the monumental Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), the political core of the glorious Venetian Republic. Along the way, we’ll include an explanation of all major sites of interest (Ducal Palace, Bridge of Sighs, Bell Tower, Marciana Library, etc.) and, whenever possible, if there are no religious services and "acqua alta" (high water) taking place, a visit to the Basilica. See tour highlights below:
  • Campo San Polo
  • Rialto Bridge and Market
  • St Mark’s Square
  • St Mark’s Basilica without standing in line (€2 per person entrance tickets not included)

Venice Itinerary  No.2

A visit to the Dorsoduro area, including beautiful urban spaces like Campo Santa Margherita and San Barnaba, is a lovely introduction to the city. Far from the major "hit-and-run" tourist routes, these neighborhoods are lively and trendy thanks to the two nearby universities with their several thousand students, and also the presence of several art museums. Once past the Grand Canal at the wooden Accademia bridge (with spectacular views of famous places and the Salute Church), we'll head into the elegant Sestiere di San Marco, with its open-air cafes, art galleries, and antique dealers, and glamorous boutiques. After a short stop at “La Fenice,” the world-famous opera house reconstructed after the 1996 fire, we’ll reach the unmissable, unforgettable St. Mark's Square. See tour highlights below:
  • Campo Santa Margherita
  • Accademia Bridge and Grand Canal
  • St. Mark’s Square
  • St. Mark’s Basilica without standing in line  (€2 per person entrance tickets not included)

NOTE: The Basilica is not open for visitors on Sunday mornings

SUGGESTED STARTING TIME: This tour can be done both in the morning and afternoon starting at around 9:00 am or at 2:30 pm.
